Meet our new Service Manager
Release Date: 9-28-09
Tom Giacalone has hung up his boots after 33 years at sea. The first 6 years were spent on several different tuna clippers working Mexico and Central America. The focus then shifted to the Western Pacific where he spent 2 years pursuing the fish of New Zealand, New Guinea and the countless miles of emptiness that surround the thousands of Pacific Islands. Moving closer to home, Tom spent 3 years throwing the harpoon at swordfish before taking his chief engineer’s license to Alaska’s gulf and the Bering Sea where he spent the last 22 years working dozens of fisheries on dozens of boats.
Always looking for a new challenge he has thrown in with Jeff Kirksey’s ‘Maximum Performance Hydraulics’. Why hydraulics and why ‘MPH’? “I have quite a bit of experience in vessel hydraulics and personnel management and Jeff offered me a position where I’m sure there will never be a dull moment." Tom says, "And after years of sailing on the high-liners, I’m used to running with the ‘big dogs’ and ‘Maximum Performance Hydraulics’ has always kept our equipment turning in the right direction.”
MPH moves into new home

Our previous shop was great and it served us well, but when the opportunity came to purchase the old Wescold building, the move was on! With 22,000 sq-ft, five (5) overhead cranes, two (2) large bay doors and ample office space, the new location will serve all our current and future needs. Considering the new building was literally 'around the corner', the move was relatively simple and resulted in minimal disruption to ongoing projects.
