The PD15B pulls 15,000 lb at 193 fpm on layer 1 — fast for the capacity — and does it from a unit that weighs 270 lb in the short configuration or 300 lb in the long. That power-to-weight ratio is the reason it turns up on mobile cranes where every pound on the boom costs capacity.
Four drum sizes are offered, including the 06 with 22.42" between flanges for long rope runs. On the 04 drum with 1/2" rope you get 465 ft at layer 5.
Two gear ratios, 41:1 and 34:1, with four motor displacements. Freefall and controlled freefall both available, as is a grooved drum for applications where spooling has to be tidy under load.
