The GM35A shares the GM27A's 12 CID motor, drum sizes and external dimensions but runs a 54:1 gear ratio instead of 40:1. That's the whole story: same envelope, roughly 30% more pull, proportionally less speed. 35,000 lb at layer 1, 105 fpm.

If you're replacing a 27 that's been working at the top of its range, this is a straight swap into the same mounting structure with more headroom. Worth checking weight — 1,429 to 2,118 lb depending on drum, slightly heavier than the 27.

Drum options and rope capacity match the GM27A: 334 ft on the 02, 2,169 ft of 7/8" on the 05. Rope diameter options are 3/4" and 7/8".

Marine-duty construction throughout — stainless drum seal lands, sintered bronze brake discs, crowned planetary gears, sight glass, 360° indexable breather vent. Built for salt, cold and long layups. We stock, install and service these — call with your application and we'll spec it.

Configuration

Available overwound (CCW) or underwound (CW), in equal speed or high speed reverse, with the 02 or 05 drum. Tell us your rope diameter, required length and mounting orientation and we'll confirm the right build.
