The Pullmaster H12 is a rapid-reverse planetary winch: it lowers roughly 4.3 times faster than it hoists. A second reduction stage drops out in reverse, taking the ratio down to 9.5:1 so the drum spins up without the operator doing anything differently. On deck work where gear has to go back down fast and come up under control, that is the reason to specify an H-series unit over a straight planetary.

Line pull is 12,121 lb on a bare drum at 2,200 psi, falling to 7,143 lb at full drum. Hoisting runs 104 fpm bare and 176 fpm full; lowering runs 449 and 762 fpm respectively. Unit weight is around 550 lb.

Braking is a spring-applied, hydraulically released multi-disc pack with both static and dynamic function, working through a unidirectional sprag clutch. No counterbalance valve is required. If a load starts to run away in reverse, the pressure drop reapplies friction automatically, and returning the lever to neutral sets the brake. Smooth lowering is a matter of modulating the control valve.

Drum seal lands are stainless. Seven standard drum codes are available, from 222 ft of 5/8" rope on the standard drum up to 1,527 ft on the -11. Freespooling, drum grooving, counterclockwise rotation and external brake release are options, and a piston motor is available for systems running above 2,200 psi.

We are an authorized Pullmaster service center — we stock, install, service and rebuild these. Call with your application and we'll spec it.

Configuration

Seven drum codes, clockwise or counterclockwise hoisting, internal or external brake circulation, optional external brake release, optional hydraulically actuated freespooling, optional drum grooving, optional motor displacements. Tell us your rope diameter and required length, available flow and pressure, hoisting direction and mounting orientation and we'll confirm the right build.
